For Over 40 Years, We Have Been Combining Recording Science and Artistry

Santa Barbara Sound Design is a Music Production Studio that has been recording world class artists for over 40 years under the direction of Grammy-nominated engineer, Dominic Camardella. We specialize in music tracking, hybrid digital/analog mixing, and analog/digital mastering as well as Live Concert Sound Mixing (Adam Camardella) and remote recording.

We have placed emphasis and excelled at recording services such as ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) for film and television, Award-winning Music Recording, Audio Books, and Sound Design/Mixing for nature film documentaries.

Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) is a post-production process used in filmmaking and video production in which supplementary recordings are mixed with original sound to create the finished soundtrack.

Music production falls into three distinct phases: tracking, mixing, and mastering. Each phase places different demands on the recording facility.

Past clients include: Joe Cocker, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Depeche Mode, Blues Traveler, Chick Corea, Charles Lloyd, Herbie Hancock, Ottmar Liebert, Maynard Ferguson, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, YES, Robert Cray, Airto & Flora Purim and many more.

Audio Books

Santa Barbara Sound Design has become the go-to-destination for recording Audio Books. A few authors worth mentioning are: TC Boyle, Fannie Flagg, Jack Canfield, Stephen Mitchell, (Grammy Award Winning) Carol Burnett and more.
